Oi-Tsuki is the lunge front punch of Karate. It takes its force by shifting the weight on your front leg, essentially
performinga lunge. Still better than the Choku-Tsuki, it’s still more of an exercise/kihon move than an actual Kumite one.
Traditional execution:
- Get in Heiko Dachi
- Close both your fists
- Extend one arm while making a one meter step with the leg that’s in the same side of the punch
- Simultaneously, perform an hiki-te with your other arm
- Kiai! at maximum extention (optional)
- While retracting perform another move (e.g: another Oi-Tsuki)
